“The technical end of it, I never quite understood. I went to expos and stuff, and everything always seemed way over my head.”

Her horse, Gene, was the reason she sought out Michael Gascon and Gascon Horsemanship Equine Affair 2019.

She said...

“Gene was a Saddlebred and a flunky of Showing. He was stalled from the time he was four, until he was eleven, when we got him. Other than being in a ring, going around and around, he did nothing else. The first year or two, he did pretty good. Elizabeth tried to show him a couple times, and that blew his mind and he started rearing, just locking her out, and he was on his last leg until that clinic.”

Barbara’s experience at the clinic was positive...

“It was incredible how fast Michael was able to show Elizabeth what to do to combat the rearing. I took my horse just for fun, and I learned a lot.”

Her greatest fear was falling off, but Michael’s system helped Barbara gain confidence...

“The way he shows you how to sit, I feel like I’m a little bit more secure in the saddle, where before, sometimes, it felt a little scary.”

What helped Barbara overcome those issues were the videos by Michael. She also highly recommends the retreats and also sends weekly videos of her riding to the program and says...

“It helps because now the support you guys give, but then everybody on the team MG, is awesome, because you get so much feedback. When you start to doubt yourself, suddenly you have a lot of people pushing you up.”
